Flowerhouse – Permanent Marker (3.5 grams)

I love Permanent Marker. Like a lot. I tried a bootleg version of it shipped in from Cali that I got at a festival awhile back and ever since then, I pick it up every time a dispensary offers it or a grower grows it. I just really like it. It’s a good indica that doesn’t wallop me. So when I went into Black Market Canna and they had this for $20 out the door, I was BEYOND stoked. But will it live up to the hype that is Permanent marker? Let’s see…

Strain name: Permanent Marker
Strain type: Indica
Percentage: 23.47 TAC
Date of production: 7/1/25
Date of testing (if applicable): N/A
Where Purchased (if applicable): Black Market Canna
Price (if applicable): $20
Amount smoked: 1.75g
Grind (if applicable): Standard grind using the control grinder. Note though that, since this was a pretty big bud, it did require you to break it down by taking the nodes off the stem before grinding.
Aroma: Smells like Permanent Marker. It’s got a chemical/marker like smell to it that’s pretty distinct.
Taste: Gassy/chemically in a delightful way.
High: This is a pretty classic Permanent Marker, albeit on the low side of things. It starts off slightly intense, unless you really dial back how much you smoke, but not in a bad way. It’s very floaty but peaceful. You’re kinda like you’re chilling on a very comfortable cloud. Executive function is limited (and, really, ALL function is limited) by this strain; it’s not one you’re gonna do a whole lot on. You’re kinda just blissfully serene but mostly engaged with whatever you decide to do (I chose reading some comics) but I wasn’t understanding them too well. It’s a bruiser but it requires more of it to achieve a real ripping high than a traditional Permanent Marker strain, which clocks in at a much higher TAC than this stuff does.

So I like this stuff. It’s a pretty good representation of the Permanent Marker strain, even though it suffers a bit on the TAC side. Also, it suffers of the curse of “the big bud”, so you’re paying for stem weight. Frankly, I mind paying stem weight of this caliber:

That being said…this eighth was $20. Out the door. I walk in, give them a crisp Jackson, and walk out with an eighth of some pretty decent cannabis. So, even though the stem was big and the TAC was low for this strain…it’s an absolute bargain at $20. Would recommend as a budget recommendation and I’m looking forward to trying more of the Flowerhouse line to see if it all holds up.
