I’ve had Pinky’s Advice before and I liked it. It was a good sativa, not too heady, not too panicky, not too worrisome. So when I saw that Smyth Cannabis was growing it, I was enthused. Good strain? Check. Great brand? Checkaroo. So I picked it up. Simple as that, really. Anyway, here’s the review.
Strain name: Pinky’s Advice
Strain type: Sativa
Date of production: 03/06/25
Date of testing (if applicable): 2/26/25
Where Purchased (if applicable): The Pass
Price (if applicable): $9.99(?)
Amount smoked: 1 gram
Grind (if applicable): I’d say a medium grind here. Some larger chunks, some smaller chunks and powder. Prevalence of stems is noted (to the point where I blew a hole in a rolling paper trying to roll it) so be forewarned. It’s shaggy.
Aroma: Very minty and herbal, like a good herbal tea from Harney and Sons or something. Slightly sweet, too, with an almost chemical smell. Not a bad chemical smell, just a smell that I can’t place that’s like sweet honey and acetone. Maybe that’s “gas” that everyone’s talking about? I dunno.
Taste: Nothing overwhelming in the spliff. It tastes like cannabis, no external notes noticeable.
High: This is a tricky one. I’ve had this stuff before but not like this. The Smyth strain sneaks up on you and sneaks up HARD. One minute you’ll be perfectly fine and then you’ll blink and suddenly you’re high as all get-out. As for the high, it’s VERY cerebral. I’m guessing this is named after “Pinky and the Brain” (or at least I’m hoping it is) and it’s quite the antithesis to Pinky’s actual advice of “Narf”. I spent an INORDINATE amount of time researching black holes and quantum physics while ripped on this stuff so it’s a straight heady high. You’ll be curious and bright, with nothing really slowing you down in terms of other effects. I really like this stuff. It’s great for just chilling and learning, which is what I’m all about.
So this stuff was different than The Pass Pinky’s Advice I had but not necessarily in a bad way. It’s a VERY creative sativa, I’ll give it that. I learned more about black holes in a week of smoking this than I’ve ever learned in my life. So it’s got that going for it. If you wanna be super creative and inquisitive and just…MENSA level of high, this is your bag. Would I get it again? Absolutely. Smyth puts out good product with good genetics and I like them and this pre-roll was not exception. Quality stuff, affordable price, great high. Would recommend.
