5 Boro – Cereal Milk (.7 gram bag)

Alright, I’ll confess: I’m cheap. Well, not necessarily CHEAP, per se, just on a very constrained budget. SSI barely pays the bills and if I need to pay out of pocket for medicine (which I consider cannabis to be), then I gotta be judicious about my purchases. But one thing that’s never steered me wrong is the classic .7 gram bag. The dime bag, the dub, the $10 special. I like it because I get to try without having to buy a massive amount, it’s pretty economical to entry, and if I don’t like it, I’m not stuck with a bunch. Bing bang boom. So when I stopped into Dutchess Roots and saw that they had dime bags, I knew I had to get one. And the 5 Boro Cereal Milk definitely struck my fancy to an umpteenth degree. So I full sent it and bought it, took it home, and waited for my grinder to empty. Well, my grinder is empty so let’s give this a test run!

Strain name: Cereal Milk
Strain type: Hybrid (50:50)
Percentage: 31.21%
Date of production/expiration: EXP 8/11/2026
Date of testing (if applicable): N/A
Where Purchased (if applicable): Dutchess Roots
Price (if applicable): $10
Amount smoked: .7 gram
Grind (if applicable): N/A, standardized grind. The flower itself is popcorn buds which is a pretty fair trade-off for being able to get a dimebag.
Aroma: Tangy. Literally, it kinda smells like Tang. Not quite real orange but pretty close. Very citrus-y and musky otherwise. Don’t get the notes of creaminess everyone alludes to.
Taste: Follows the aroma of citrus peels and a funky/musky weight to it.
High: Definitely hits as a hybrid because the high is kinda…all over. It’s not particularly strong in any which way (head vs body), it kinda hovers in the middle. It’s slightly dozy with only a touch of creative juices to help cover that. It’s pleasant, in a calming but focused way, although I tend to enjoy a little nap on it from time to time. It’s pretty middle of the road.

This was a weird one for me in the fact that it was a very large dichotomy in my brain. One one hand, I can tell the cannabis is well grown and cured but on the other hand, it just wasn’t my kind of strain so I feel stuck in the middle here. If you like hybrids (which I’m slowly thinking I might not), this is a pretty good one. It’s got oomph in the THC context and it’s a pretty smooth ride but I like my strains to lie on a side so that you get the effects of one tempered by the effects of the other instead of just a…conglomeration of the two highs. Would I get it again? Na, probably not. Do I think 5 Boro is bad? Also no. It’s cost effective to try for me ($10 for a .7 grams out the door), it does it’s job, and it’s seemingly well curated. It just ain’t my bag, baby. I’ll see if I can get some more dimebags of other strains from them to give a whirl.
