I’ve heard a lot about White Widow, it being a classic strain and all, and I realized that I had never had it. When I stopped into my local, Dutchess Roots, I saw it on the menu and went “huh”. I said that for two reasons:
- They had it in stock and I hadn’t noticed it on the website
- It was from a brand that I’d heard literally nothing about before and that intrigued me.
I was a bit skeptical at first. I’d heard nothing about it and I try to do my research so I was dubious. How could it have slipped through my carefully woven research network? And it was a strain that I wanted but wasn’t sure if it’d be a good representation of the genre, so to speak. But after checking the price on it, I decided it was coming home with me to be evaluated. I had to try it at some point, why not now? But how did it fare? Well, let’s see…
Strain name: White Widow
Strain type: Sativa Hybrid (60:40)
Percentage: 20.01%
Date of production: N/A
Date of testing (if applicable): N/A
Where Purchased (if applicable): Dutchess Roots
Price (if applicable): $5
Amount smoked: .5 gram
Grind (if applicable): Medium-fine. Pretty well ground down to the point that it’s uniform smaller particles but not small enough that it’s like kief.
Aroma: It’s got like a…fresh grass and dirt. Seriously, it’s like a fresh mown lawn with something…exotic to it, like a sandalwood. Very nice and green, woody, and pleasant.
Taste: Woodsy. It tastes like licking the inside of a bourbon barrel which I am a HUGE fan of. Very nice
High: This is a gorgeous high. I’d never had White Widow before but I get what the appeal is. It’s like I’m smokin…nothin’ at all, nothin’ at all! But in a good way. It gets me correct but then leaves me alone to do what I gotta do. No anxiety, no paranoia, just cool, calm, collected, and creative. No focus issues, little trouble typing, but overall, a very quality high.
Perhaps it’s my penchant for x-hybrids (sativa-hybrid/indica-hybrid) but I really enjoyed this one. The high was very useful for me, both mentally and physically, and it just fit like a velvet glove. The best part? It was $5. A crisp Lincoln (plus tax) and I’m out the door. Why bother getting a Biggie Bag from Wendy’s when, for the same price, Moony’s will set you right? I like this. I like the brand (the art is kinda dope), I like the price point, and the cannabis isn’t bad by a long-shot. Will DEFINITELY be exploring more of this brand in the very near future. It’s worth it to ball out on a budget sometimes.
