It sucks being disabled. It especially sucks to have C-PTSD. It works its way into the most benign things like an insidious worm that ruins fun. I recently went out to The Pass and picked up a few things, one of which was this pre-roll. When I decanted it, I knew that I’d have trouble with it because of my C-PTSD. You may not know this about me but I’ve had 35 surgeries, and countless hospitalizations, so I know my way around a hospital pretty well. From the sights, to the sounds, and, most critical, the smells. The smells of a hospital haunt me constantly. And this pre-roll, well, it had a smell. What smell was it? Um…
Strain name: Rainbow Road
Strain type: Sativa (60:40)
Percentage: 66.88% TAC
Date of production: 8/29/25
Date of testing (if applicable): 9/10/25
Where Purchased (if applicable): The Pass
Price (if applicable): $36.00
Amount smoked: .75 gram
Grind (if applicable): Medium coarse. Mostly uniform with some larger chunks in there that skew it towards medium-coarse. Definitely workable.
Aroma: Here’s the rub. It smells okay on the first whiff, slightly green and dill-like…and then it hits me. I dunno if you’ve ever had general anesthesia before but it SMELLS like anesthesia. So much so that just sniffing it gives me a mild panic attack. I can’t tell what it’s coming from, either. It says its made with a solventless hash but there’s just something organoleptic about it that screams “halogenated ether”. It’s…very hard for me to get past but since I paid $36 for it, I’m gonna.
Taste: The good news is that I use so little of it I can’t taste much over the tobacco. It does have a vaguely chemical/anesthetic taste in large doses (made THAT mistake earlier) but I can squelch the taste if there’s not much in there. And I don’t put much in there because this stuff clocks HIGH.
High: This sucks because the high is actually quite nice. For clocking in at 66.88% TAC, it’s a very…capable high. If dosed correctly, you won’t have any problems getting about your day and doing what you need to do; it’s quite functional (although I hate abusing that word). The hybrid status rounds out the rougher edges that can come with a sativa and just leaves you sitting creative, sharp, and witty. Damn, I was really hoping I wouldn’t like the high on this one but I really do.
So here’s the deal. Personally, and personally ONLY, I can’t recommend this one. There’s nothing wrong with the construction, the flower, the hash, or the THCa crystals. The thing is perfectly fine. It’s just, and I dunno WHAT it is, but it has a flavor that triggers MY PERSONAL C-PTSD. So it’s not a fit for me. But that’s not to say this might be a ringer for you. This is just a hyper specific, very niche reason that I don’t like it and you probably won’t have the same reaction that I did. So for me, it’s a no. For the audience, it’s a go. I will try some of the NY versions and more of the MA versions in the future just to see what else they have but this one is a no for me. Sorry, Sluggers.
